Making its unveiling in the plunge of 1985, The fair Girls briefly established itself as a game of Saturday night ready time television. next the lives of four adult women living together as roommates in Miami, the show displayed a raw wit and a stinging joking. The women live in the house of Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan), a Southern belle who loves men of every kind and has square every eligible free in the Miami region. Her roommates are previous high instruct coach Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur) and St. Olaff housewife and widower Rose Nylund (Betty colorless). Rose loves to tell stories about her previous homeland, greatly to the annoyance of the other girls. The three are tied by Dorothys mother, hothead Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty), a spunky Italian colonist who forever speaks her brains. In her early-eighties, Sophia may stroll at a slow stride, but the velocity of her sarcasm only increases with age.
